The one pan you need right now!

I can comfortably say that by now, most if not all of us have spent a considerable amount of  time in our kitchens whipping up recipes, we never thought we would make from scratch.

By now you also know the exact location of a specific spice which was once forgotten in the pantry.

And by now you also are reviewing all your cookware and serve ware with critical eyes as if you were a judge on the Food Network show, thinking to yourself, you get what you pay for. The non-stick has become over-stick and you are wondering as to where did those dents and scratches come from.

Luckily, earlier this year I got a chance to try the Always Pan from Our Place. I have been using this pan atleast 3 times a week if not more for over 3 months now and here is what I think about it. Breakfast, lunch, dinner…you name it, I have made it in this pan.

But first some quick history!

Our place is the brain child of Shiza Shahid, co-founder of Malala Fund. You can read in detail how she pivoted to cookware in this NY Times Article.

The pan has already made it’s way into Oprah’s favorite things, GMA, Goop, Today Show, NY Times, WSJ and more.

Now on to the pan….

What makes this pan unique?

To start of, it is light weight. I am used to my heavy cast iron Lodge Skillet so picking this pan is a breeze. It is an aluminum pan with stainless steel treatment at the base. The thing I am most excited for is the non stick coating, but wait…it is not your traditional Teflon one. It is a ceramic coated non-stick cookware which has PTFE and PFAS free coating that is tested to be safe for you and your family.

The pan is almost 3″ deep and 10″ wide and comes with a lid, wooden spatula and a metal steamer basket which all fit together snug-ly.

It is compatible with all cook tops but unfortunately is not oven-safe. The handle remains cool allowing easy transfer from the stove to the table.

I have cooked every kind of cuisine in this pan and clean up has been a breeze. I even burnt brown sugar while candying the pecans, but it truly is non-stick. Oh, I forgot to mention that the pan also comes with water activated natural sponge and thought the pan is dishwasher safe, I recommend hand washing it to elongate the non-stick life.

That is not it. The Our Place line also offers dinnerware and more.

You can also buy the bundle for 4 people which includes the pan, bowls, plates and glasses.

I love the bowls and plates which are hand painted with a speckled top and the glasses are ideal to make Dalgona Coffee and the cleaver  is sharp enough to hack any bone or mince the garlic in seconds.

In a nutshell, if you crack open an egg every morning, are spending lots of pots and pans sauteing the gravy, curry, pasta, soups, rice….woking up Asian dishes and then spending a major chunk of your day cleaning those pots and pans, then the Our Place Always Pan is just for you. If your pans/skillet always end up in the oven, you are better at skipping this beauty. While this pan is not the replacement for all your other cookware, it sure replaces most of them.
