4 TV SHOWS YOU NEED TO SEE TODAY

With soo many shows/series on live TV and a million online streaming options, there is always soo much to chose from and often like a buffet where you fill up your plate because “Why NOT”, you end up feeling blaaah.

I am always watching something here and there and if something really interests me, then I am one of those people who will sacrifice their sleep to binge-watch that show. Too bad that my family and friends have to bear the consequences like verbal discharge for the next couple of days till the show gets out of my system 🙂

I like all kind of genres and since there are soo many shows that fall in the same category I will make separate posts about them.

Surprisingly all these shows have a strong female lead which after I realized after I had made the list.

Without any further ado and in no particular order here are the four watch tv series/shows I really like and hope you will enjoy too….

 

1. THE BOLD TYPE

 

If you loved “Devil Wears Prada” or the “Sex and the City”, then you will The Bold Type.

 The show is inspirited by the famous Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief, Joanna Coles and gives us a glimpse of the everyday lives of the people who bring the magazine together.

 The show revolves around three friends Jane, Kat, and Sutton who work for “Scarlet”, a global fashion magazine and are living their bold lives in the New York City.

 The best part is that though a comedy series it tackles a lot of relevant, serious issues happening in the US today and how it affects the young adults and how they in return are dealing with it.

 

2. YOUNGER:

Based on a novel by Pamela R. Satran, Younger follows the story of a recently single 40-year old Liza who decides to restart her career by pretending to be 26.

There is no time- travel involved rather her good genes which have helped her cheat the calendar.

It all begins with Liza unable to get a job in the publishing world as the 20-something-year-old taking the interview thinks she is too old and irrelevant for it. When a young handsome guy, on the other hand, thinks she is in her 20s, Liza with her best friends help decides to pose as a millennial and get an entry-level job. She succeeds at it and the story begins.

The story is sharp, funny and very relateable. There is a certain kind of sweetness and you end up admiring all the characters.

 

3. DYNASTY

 

I never watched the old Dynasty so cannot make a fair comparison between the two but the new one is really something.

The show or I would say soap follows the lives of America’s two wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys as they fight to take control over the fortune and their children.

The show is trashy…. Rich people problems… Diamonds and drinks. Best for a day when you feel like seeing attractive people behaving naughty.

Dynasty is kind of a guilty pleasure with wowza outfits, over the top drama, big sets and not to mention the naughty scenarios.

 

4. JANE THE VIRGIN

 

If you love Telenovelas then you definitely cannot miss Jane is the Virgin.

Jane is a Virgin. Her grandmother has emphasized enough to be one till she gets married. However, she gets the shock of her life when she finds out that she is pregnant after being accidentally artificially inseminated.

Telenovela enough?

Fresh, charming, funny, every episode leaves you wanting to see more. There is a certain balance to the series and it never gets over the top (from Telenovela standards that is).

And did I forget to mention….the show has a secret narrator telling the whole story?

Neat!
