GROUND CHICKEN WITH BELL PEPPERS (KEEMA)

Ground chicken is a healthier alternative to ground beef. A lot of people do not like it since its less flavorful as compared to beef. But I assure you,  if you make it my way it will be a weekly dish in your house too. Since it has less fat and fewer calories you can have a bigger portion too. I sneak in veggies too so it makes it more nutritious.

Ingredients:

1 lb Ground Chicken (Thigh/Breast)
3 tbsp. olive oil
1 small onion-chopped
4 cloves garlic (more if you want real garlicky taste)
Coin sized ginger
1 small bell pepper
1 small tomato chopped

Spices:

1/2 tsp Chilli  Powder
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
1/4 tsp fenugreek powder
1 /4 tsp turmeric
Salt to taste
3-4 cloves
1 small piece of cinnamon
Recipe:
-In a large skillet saute the onions in olive oil until light gold.
-Add ginger and garlic and stir for another minute.
-Meanwhile make a puree of the bellpepper.
-Add the puree to the skillet along with the spices and cook for another minute or so.
-Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking the lumps with a spoon.
-Stir fry till the chicken changes color then add tomatoes
-Turn down the heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes partially covered.
-Open the lid and stir the chicken and you will see the oil has separated from the chicken which means it is done
-Garnish with cilantro and serrano chillies and dish out.
